I was confused by this move yesterday, but given the price is about $200, the lens makes more sense, especially from Nikon’s sales point of view.

The question, is the focus on Nikon’s entry-level shooters ( D40x and D60 users need that AF-S!) going to come at the detriment of Nikon’s FX shooters? Regardless, the AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm F/1.8G is great news for DX users, but probably a head-scratcher for FX shooters.
