Anyone expecting to see an Apple netbook at the WWDC in June is going to be disappointed. This news was dropped by Tim Cook, the Apple COO.

Currently, Sony Computer Entertainment America’s senior VP of marketing, Peter Dille, has admitted that the PlayStation Portable has been hit hard by piracy – with as many as 50 million units in the marketplace potentially having been compromised.

“I’m convinced and we’re convinced that piracy has taken out a big chunk of our software sales on PSP,” Dille told Gamasutra. “It’s been a problem that the industry has to address together; it’s one that I think the industry takes very seriously, but we need to do something to address this because it’s criminal what’s going on, quite frankly.

Recently, Oracle gobbled up Sun Microsystems for $7.4 billion Monday, boldly swooping in to take advantage after IBM dropped its bid to buy one of high-tech’s best-known — and most-troubled — companies.

The startling deal, Oracle’s first hardware acquisition, steps up Oracle’s bid to become a one-stop technology shop for more than 300,000 corporate, government and academic customers. It also effectively ends Sun’s 27-year history as Silicon Valley’s maverick independent.

Currently, i don’t cover Mac or Windows news on the site, even though most people who have an iPhone will at some point plug it into a laptop or desktop. And we almost never cover software that isn’t directly involved with that plug in connection. Why the exception? Tweetie for Mac began as Tweetie for iPhone, one of the most popular and robust iPhone Twitter clients in the App Store, and as much as the iPhone version set the foundation for Tweetie for Mac, it looks like Tweetie for Mac rebuilt that foundation for the next iPhone release.
