Oh, boy. It was only a matter of time, wasn’t it? Automobile security system company Viper has just introduced its SmartStart line consisting of an in-car hardware module with a cellular connection that allows you to lock, unlock, and remotely start your car from just about anywhere in the world.

You can also show off by popping the trunk and hitting the panic button, too. The module can be added to existing compatible Viper systems for $300 or there’s an all-in-one system for $500 – both are currently available at Best Buy.

Since the starter module has some sort of cellular connection built-in, Viper will be charging $30 per year for remote iPhone starting features. The first year is free, though, and the system is also compatible with the iPod touch over Wi-Fi.

If all this stuff sounds vaguely familiar, you may recall a similar prototype Android version called “KEI” (see coverage here) that an MIT student developed back in May of 2008.

I first read on Nokia Mobile Talk (thanks Jorge) and then on the Guardian that Nokia will be announcing an Android-based device at Nokia World in September. The Guardian states their sources as “industry insiders” so I am not sure what that means and I have not seen or heard anything official from Nokia yet. Let’s chalk this up as a rumor for now, but an interesting one at that.

As Jorge listed on Nokia Mobile Talk a Nokia Android device could have some very compelling specs and given the reputation of Nokia phones in regards to phone calls, media capture, and battery life I would be first in line to buy a Nokia Android unit. While an ASeries would be slick I think the more likely candidate for a Nokia Android device is a Nokia Android Internet Tablet.

Android running on the N810 would be a great fit and some have already hacked their N810 to run the Android OS, with mixed results. I enjoy using my T-Mobile G1 and find the Google Android OS to be quite powerful and enjoyable.

Microsoft might not be launching a Zune phone just yet but its Zune HD player will pack a powerful Nvidia Tegra Chip.

As expected, T-Mobile USA have announced the myTouch 3G, their second Android handset and the follow-up to the T-Mobile G1. Recognizable as the HTC Magic – which Android Community reviewed in back in May – the phone has a 3.2-inch HVGA resolution capacitive touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera and the usual array of Google applications.
That includes YouTube, Google Maps (with Latitude and Street View), GTalk and GMail, support for IMAP, POP and Exchange accounts and one-touch media uploads. However, for the first time on an Android device, T-Mobile have loaded an app called Sherpa, featuring GENIE (Geodelic ENgine for Interest Evaluation), onto the myTouch 3G, which promises to recognize patterns of use and offer suggestions based on past behaviours.

The T-Mobile myTouch 3G is expected to go up for pre-order on July 8th, though initially only for existing subscribers to the carrier. National availability is expected in early August, with the handset priced at $199.99 with a new two-year agreement. Three color options will be release: black, white and merlot.

By and large, LG’s announcements at CommunicAsia in Singapore this week have been straight-up rehashes of announcements from earlier in the year — the GD900, for example — but there was one diamond in the rough that should get a few people excited.

The GW550 is the latest fruit of LG’s strategic alliance with Microsoft to produce Windows Mobile phones, offering a 2.4-inch QVGA display, full HSPA with 7.2Mbps on the downlink, a 3 megapixel primary cam with a VGA sensor up front for video calling, and stereo speakers on board; the front cam immediately tells us that we can’t expect this phone to drop as-is on AT&T, but we bet LG would just love to put something very similar up against the Jack.

Singapore, June 16, 2009 – LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, will introduce the company’s latest innovative handsets and strategic direction for the year at CommunicAsia 2009 in Singapore taking place from June 16-19.

The phones at center stage for LG this year all include the company’s innovative new 3D S-Class User Interface, which debuted in the LG ARENA (LG-KM900) earlier this year. The LG ARENA is a fully loaded multimedia phone that offers an audio and video experience far more advanced than other similar devices. LG sold more than 300,000 ARENA handsets within just four weeks of its February debut at Mobile World Congress 2009, a testament to its appeal.

Now a days, smoking is a big problem to our environment, Some people can’t easily stop their habit of smoking. We all know that death can be possible outcome being a smokers in terms of our health issue.

Now, As i surfing the net, to have a any clue or a solution of this matter, i am smokers too and i am scared what it could be the outcome on my health. I found this cute and amazing Gadget, it was called E Cigarette is an electronic cigarette from a regular one is that the e-cigarette vaporizes the nicotine mixture for direct consumption. Amazing right? so this is our chance to grab the opportunity and Buy E Cigarette to have a healthy lungs.

What is an E Cigarette? Electronic cigarettes are HEALTHY options because they use a nicotine mixture that doesn’t contain any toxins and carcinogens. As the pleasure of tobacco smoking is caused by the taste and absorption of nicotine, e cigarettes DO AWAY with the hazardous substances that traditional smoking brings and keeps only the nicotine — just the good stuff. Also, when you puff on the e cigarette, you’re not puffing smoke but vaporized nicotine. There are no carbon monoxides at all, and no primary and secondary smoke that can harm you and the people around you. It’s not just healthy for us, but Mother Nature gets to breathe easier too!

We just got to witness history, folks: Alfredo Rodriguez waited an hour in the miserable New York rain for the privilege of snapping up his Sprint store’s very first retail Pre at this evening’s invite-only Premier customers event.

The man paid in cold hard cash, and after a tedious 40 minute purchase process that involved a bit of activation, some nice tutorials, a quick address book sideload from his old Touch Diamond and whole lot of peripheral upsell, Alfredo was one of the world’s first satisfied Pre customers.

The last time we saw him Alfredo was still playing with his new phone, and gives the device two thumbs up. He’s particularly digging the keyboard — what Touch Diamond user wouldn’t? — and the flip-up mirror. Word on the street was that there were about 80 units available at the store, but while we couldn’t squeeze an official number out of Sprint, they did confirm that they’ll have units available for the launch tomorrow as well. Be sure to let us know how your own local launch treats you!

Here’s a comparison of the costs, as compiled by BillShrink.com.

UPDATE: :Looks like the BillShrink guys got some of this wrong. Updated data below from AT&T’s web site.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: BillShrink says the original data they quoted included added in an unlimited texting plan, which runs $20 a month for one person, or $30 for a family plan. That would explain the difference for both the unlimited data and voice quote, and the 900 voice minute quote. The original number they quoted for the 450 minute plan in fact was simply incorrect; it would be $89.99 if you include unlimited texting, not $112.49, or $69.99 with no text plan.
